Voight brings the father of one of the girls to district in order to get some honest answers. Meanwhile, Platt puts Roman and Burgess on gun buy-back duty where they ask questions when they aren't supposed to.

Plot[]

On his way out, a young woman named Olive talks with Voight and reveals she used to date his son. She states she was trying to get in touch with him because she is pregnant with his child. Although he nearly leaves, Voight stops to apologize and gives her his card and tells her they can talk later. Olive is thankful.

Jay and Al visit Jason Woodley's mother, who after mourning and condemning her son, states she has peace from his death and tells them to relay that to the officer who killed him. Jay then asks who her son ran with because he had a partner, and she reveals it was likely his friend Reid Dryer. As they leave, Ms. Woodley angrily says they should have shot him too.

At the precinct, Intelligence does a background on Reid Dryer and its revealed that he did illegal favors for Gordon and went to prison for it. They surmise after Reid got out, he went to Gordon for the remainder of his money but the latter refused to pay up and Reid kidnapped Gordon's daughter as revenge. The unit note that Allison ended up being brought as collateral damage.

They visit Hayden at the hospital, and she reveals she indeed saw Woodley before and he was with another man that was likely Reid. With that, Voight confronts Gordon in front of Becks who is outraged that Gordon's action got both their daughters snatched. Becks demands Gordon tell the truth, as Voight has him walk it off. At the precinct, Intelligence confronts Gordon and his lawyer with Gordon not confessing until his wife and daughter come in, clearly having seen from the window. They demand to know what Gordon did and Voight has his lawyer leave out after seeing Gordon wants to come clean. He sincerely explains that he didn't mean for this to happen. Hayden tells her father that because of this, her best friend is suffering. His wife tells him that he will explain everything to the cops now and he reveals Reid called him and he gave up Becks' number after finding out who his daughter was and the money he could get.

They pinpoint Becks' cellphone at a church and it turns out he is present there. Antonio and Erin hear arguing, before finding Becks with Reid and bursting in. Seeing them, Reid shoots Becks in the shoulder because he said no cops. A standoff goes off with Reid wanting his release after he gives them Allison.

As the standoff goes on, Kevin and Adam do research of the building layout to search for a possible place that Reid stashed. Thanks to some blueprints from the church, Hank Voight and Alvin Olinsky find Allison in an old music room, Hank informs them that they have rescued Allison, meaning Reid has lost his leverage. He then gives the go ahead to shoot Dryer, Halstead complies and shoots Dryer in the leg, incapacitating him and allowing Dawson and Lindsay to arrest him.

A quick check-up on Becks reveals that his wound is through and through, Allison rushes in to find her wounded father and quickly hugs him. Becks tells Hank that Reid called him and promised to release Allison if he came with the money. He remarks that he had to at least try something, which Hank nods at understanding.
