Jules was very passionate about her job and well liked by her co-workers, even her superiors. She was especially close with Antonio Dawson and Erin Lindsay, fellow members of the unit. Jules and Erin had a close friendship, mainly due to the fact that they were the only female detectives in the Intelligence Unit.
Outside of work, Jules was a loving and devoted wife and mother of two. While her job was demanding, she always made time for her family, and didn't bring work home with her.

In reference to the episode: "Stepping Stone".
As they turned around, one of Pulpo's men shot through the door, the shot bypassing the kevlar vest and fatally hitting Jules in the neck. Detective Lindsay accompanied Willhite in the ambulance to the hospital, but she died later in the day.
