Phil Rodiger was the father of pedophile Lonnie Rodiger, whom he later killed in a rage filled fight. He was portrayed by Don Forston.

Biography[]

Season 1[]

Father of Lonnie, Phil would often defend his son against Detective Jay Halstead's accusations of killing 8 year-old Ben Corson, among several other victims. This has escalated to the point in which he was forced to file a restraining order against Halstead. The conflict only worsened after Jay violated the order and attacked Phil at a bar.

Phil and his wife were visited by Jay, though they nearly slam the door on him they stop when Jay once again told them their son was a pedophile. Unlike before, they start to consider it after Jay mentions what Lonnie purchased.

Phil and Lonnie soon got into a physical fight where Phil strangled Lonnie to death with a belt, after finding evidence on his laptop, confirming that he was a pedophile and a murderer. [1] Phil dumped his dead son in a park. The next day, he and his wife confronted Jay and blamed him for the death of their son. Much later, Phil was found by Halstead (who was accused of the murder) and they talked. Phil confesses to being ashamed at realizing Jay was right about his son. At Halstead's suggestion, he turns himself into the 21st District and confesses his crime out of shame for defending Lonnie.
